Vroom! Vroom! Party starter!

German label ProNoize currently seems to be less noise and more Industrial Rave. Their latest project to tout the party moniker is Phosgore, a typical amalgamation of whizzing saturation bombing beats and tooting synths with the primary aim of dragging tired, resistant asses onto the dance floor.

The smash-and-grab tactics utilized are brief (by prevailing dance floor standards), quickly belting out impromptu tracks that immediately get to the heart of the matter; “Noise Preacher” clearly states its formula within the first fifteen seconds: complicated synth melodies struggle for attention over overpowering machinery bleets; the aptly titled “Hardcore Shit” is a three and a half minute bouncing crescendo, where there isn’t any confusion about what should be going on for the duration (yeah, dancing); “Destruktor” is something more of a primal noise anthem, but it eventually gets back on schedule (yup, more dancing); “Club Domination” is, well, hopefully by now you’ve gotten the idea. The incentive for this package are the remixes by such label mates as SAM, Xotox, FabrikC and X-RX, all of whom attempt to teach Phosgore a thing or two about rhythmic variation and the tyranny of the beat.

The transient timing of the average Phosgore track doesn’t do much to offer any real artistic satisfaction, but the bottom line here is that this elektro dance music in its purest form, if you’ve come here to dance, you’ll most definitely get you money’s worth. Vroom, vroom, club kids!
