I have always been on the fence when it comes to this band. At first I was a little turned off by the spoken lyrics. I just did not give them the chance they deserved until I picked up a copy of Hideous and Perfect the latest album from Angelspit. Angelspit hails from Sydney Australia formed in 2004 with Destroyx on vocals and synthesist ZooG. Angelspit is the punch in the gut, in your face, nails on a chalkboard, dirty shards of metal and steel type of EBM that many people crave. Destroyx is a riot grrl whose lyrics are raw and honest and when combined with the male counterpart makes it a pure adrenaline rush to your very core. Angelspit are original, and inventive. The lyrics are dark, sharp and innovating revealing a compelling visual of evil. They are purely unique and inventive and as someone said “Industrial Medicine with sonic textures.”

I was surprised I liked this record. Angelspit is very impressive with sound effects, pounding beats and hypnotic synths. This album is a must have for anyone interested in EBM or Industrial.

This album is arresting, one of a kind and a must have.
