Hello gothlings! A month since my last review? I am so sorry. See, even us goths have to do family and holiday things... but fear not! I am here with a new review! Enjoy!

Leave it to VNV Nation to take songs about Armageddon and human tragedy and make it into a trippy, EBM album. They have done it again with “Of Faith, Power and Glory” Released June 23rd, 2009 on Anachron Sounds. Ronan Harris has always impressed me with his clean, almost soft vocals. It becomes an nice contrast with thumping EBM beats. This album is like most of the others: Europop/Synth/Futurepop. Some will say that VNV has grown a little stagnant with no change but I think the formula works. Ronan and Mark make VNV different from regular rock goth and rivethead music. It's not The Cure, and not CombiChrist. You can hear Ronan sing, and you can hear the details in the beats.

“Sentinal” was the first song to stick out as I listened to this album. I thought it was a great tune to blast in the car while driving and enjoying an afternoon. I realized there was not a song I really disliked on the album. The I stumbled on “From my Hands”. This song is beautiful and goes a little more romantic and goth then synth. It reminded me of when Ronan sang Illusion live with no music and just his vocals- Brilliant.

All in all I appreciate this album and enjoy it. It may not appeal to some. If you are looking for thrash beats and singers who growl and groan then this album and VNV Nation are simply not for you.
