I have seen Rammstein in concert twice and they put on a powerhouse show, the first time I attended I notice the crowd almost in an trance. Everyone held up fists as eyes glazed over and words were repeated mercilessly. The fire, the lights, the antics displayed by this band definitely sets them apart from others. Some songs bring back memories that I treasure deeply. Admittedly I have not owned a Rammstein CD in some time so I was looking forward to checking out "Liebe Ist Fur Alle Dr" from Vagrant Records. The CD design was impressive, so surely the music would be also, I thought. The CD has four folds with a massive insert of German lyrics and interesting photography such as a nude woman spread on a table with Till Lindermann as the “butcher”.

I am sure I will offend the die hard Rammstein fans out there but here it goes. It was plain, mediocre and all out blah. I have always adored Till and Flick and always will but I don't think we are seeing any growth here. All the songs were the same with thumping beats, metal guitars and drums and Till singing his German heart away. Some songs just seemed to sound like the rest and if you put in a past Rammstein CD it would sound the same as this one. There has been no change, no progression seen in the last ten years or so.

One song had promise which is “Pussy”, the only English track on the album. After a few minutes I turned it off. It seemed put on and a song made just for shock sake but did not deliver the punch it probably should have. I couldn't even name the rest of the songs because they all blended together after a while. I will always have respect for this band but this album just like the rest. This system probably works well for them and their fans, if it is not broke do not fix it right?

All I know is that this CD will end up underneath my car seat.
