Rating: 5 out of 5
So after cleaning up some Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toys to be sold, I kind of got into a nostalgic feeling mood. Of course I went
though all my trade paper-backs (TPB) and stumbled upon one of my childhood favorites, G.I. Joe. This TPB is everything I remembered the
G.I. Joe cartoon to be, only better. People actually die in the comic book, unlike the '80's cartoon.
The TPB is a collection of the original 10 issues of the Marvel comic book series G.I. Joe: A Real America Hero (1982-95). It was
everything I had hoped it would be, non-stop fun. Unlike Transformers, which I though was amazing, then watched the cartoon and couldn't
believe how bad most of it was, G.I. Joe was awesome. I know in the cartoon no one really ever died, but in the TPB people get blasted
almost every page. I just really had a great time reading all about Duke, Snake-Eyes, Stalker and the rest of the original ('80's) G.I. Joe
team. After reading the TPB I had to track down some of my old figures and display them at work.
Reading how G.I. Joe would constantly halt Cobra's plans for world domination over and over was fantasic. Another really neat thing about
the comic is that Cobra Commander wasn't really a bumbling idiot. He (in the beginning) was actually a tactful leader. Just think about the
amount of money it would cost to fund such a large terrorist organization, which came from Cobra's ties with oil company Exxon. They had so
much money they even offered free drugs!
You can buy this inspiring TPB at TDS Enterprises Presents Comics & Games, West Cheser. I would highly recommend this TPB to anyone
who used to love G.I. JOe as a kid and any true red blooded America. Yo, Joe!
Did you think I was kidding?
Notice the name on the oil cans!
Free Coke?!? How can they afford to give away their drugs like that? Oil money thats how!
